I've read numerous threads, where fellow Phantom fliers routinely do a SD card format.
Not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing, but what I'm wondering is this.
I have my Phantom SD card setting for file index mode set to "Continuous" (vs. "Reset")
One time I a few weeks ago I did something that reset the sequenci all indexing back to zero (if my memory serves me, it was a format that I did).

Does formatting the SD card reset the file indexing?

Does formatting the SD card reset the file indexing?
No .. formatting just overwrites the file allocation table on the card.
It has nothing to do with DJI camera functions like file numbering.
Yours probably reverted to default settings with a firmware upgrade?
Formatting the card is a good thing - it won't do any harm to the card or your Phantom.

No, nothing got reverted, the setting never changed from "continuous" to "reset"
What happened was on that day, my pics filenames started back at DJI_0001.jpg
I'd have to look at the dates of the files (they were under #200 as in DJI_0199.jpg) to see, but I believe that the firmware update a couple weeks back was quite a bit after my issue.
In order to get new pics and vids back up to the correct sequence, I had to click off 190 some odd pics.
I wish that DJI would use a more modern way of indexing (or filenaming) pics, like the way my cell phones have for years....

Easy, and keeps them in order by date & time, and no need for a setting, and no chance of
