Or use a more sophisticated transmitter like the Futaba 14SG which has variable gains.

There's a lot of good choices for after market radio upgrades.

You don't need to spend $600 to have good quality and nice features you're not likely to grow out of anytime soon.

Having said that, there are those around here modifying their OEM Tx for this reason so if you're into that look around.
