Hello.
I am interested for the DJI Phantom 2
I have two questions:
1) Is there a windows version of Ground station (unfortunately I have ipad 2 that does not support bluetooth 4).
2) What is the range of the Phandom 2;
Thanks!

I use the Windows version, Phantom is certainly not devoted to Apple
The range depends on whether you are in CE mode (300 meters) or FCC mode (500 meters). The device ships with CE mode because that is required in Europe, but you can change it yourself and almost double the range. The tutorial is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbBGuER11Uc#t=88

Thanks for thw answer !
If i purchase Phantom 2, what else i need to order for a waypoint flight?
The netbook computer that i will install the GS must have only BLUETOOTH 4 or must be a 3G?

Ground station is currently apple. Android would be the next logical progression. Not sure if developing a windows version would even make sense.

My Phantom 2 controller does not light up Green like the Phantom 2 visions in the video(mine is red), and mine required the phillips head not the flat. I further do not get any beeps as indicated in the Phantom 2 vision video above. Is this how the Phantom 2 controller is?

Are you sure you are talking about Ground Station?

Yes i am sure.
Have a look at DJI site : http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-2
i found this:
Unbelievable Intelligence
Program your flight path from an iPad with the 16 waypoint Ground Station system, to shoot with more precision than ever.
Beyond visual range (BVR) flight
Mission planner
iPad Ground Station, more convenient
convenient

*Requires DJI 2.4G Bluetooth(R) datalink

if you want to fly via waypoints on a Phantom 2 you need an iPad, the phantom 2, and the iOS ground station.
I suggest going with this because if you decide to add FPV, you'll have the mini IOSD: http://1uas.com/DJI-IOS-Ground-Station- ... %20station

You also need one more thing, a firmware update. Currently the ground station doesn't work until DJI does a firmware update for the phantom. They are supposed to have the update ready this month.

Currently it only works with the iPad (i'm using an iPad mini) but it is possible that it could work on an android in the future. I honestly don't see it working on a windows tablet but if you have one of those windows tablets that is basically a computer with a USB port, you could probably download the software and run it on the windows tablet like it was being run on a windows PC. although I'm not really sure about all the windows stuff, I'm a mac guy.
