The U.S. Congress is working toward creating a framework for regulating micro drones used in commercial and other beneficial civilian applications. The proposal to introduce risk-based regulation for a micro UAS class of drones was introduced by Congressman Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) as an amendment to H.R. 4441, the Aviation Innovation, Reform, and Reauthorization (AIRR) Act. It was approved by the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Committee late Thursday evening.
