Hold the idling bird / prop tips at eye level. If you see two lines, one blade is off kilter. I changed that prop, got it running with less vibration and a smoother sound. I think I will add that to my pre liftoff look at. Maybe the birds and bees will be less offended.
 
That's an interesting prop balancing method :)

I use the SpeedyTM prop balancer to balancer my props. There are some other good options here though:

Maybe I'll try that trick to make it less offensive. The other day I had a swarm of Bees attack my drone. I can see on my video where they attacked me for a few minutes. My props had some bees splattered on them.
