Prop balancing...sandpaper or tape?

Just got a prop balancer, wondering which is the best way...sanding some off, or using tape?

I like to use clear Scotch tape. Here's an example showing how it's done using tape:

Tape, have used fingernail polish but found tape faster
And has never came off.
