Upon initial powerup everything will be fine. The alarm reads the proper voltages across all 3 cells and displays total voltage correctly. I'll take off, go flying for a few minutes. Hear maybe 1 or 2 beeps. Bringing it back in for landing and it will be malfunctioning like seen above. Wiggling the wires does not work, it is not a loose connection. I have tried setting the alarm for different values, still does not work. Any thought or just a junk unit?

and here is how it reacts on the ground just idling with the alarm set to 3.7. it seems to start the alarm correctly by beeping then starts resetting itself.

Well it's certainly busted. I have no idea how, but my guess is it has an internal short or loose connection (not at your balance cable). These are dirt cheap, I say chuck it and get a new one.
