Hi. There is a micro USB connection next to the micro SD slot on the body of the phantom 4. Not sure if I can preview the recorded videos/photos by connection a USB cable from here to my computer to preview recorded videos and photos? I don't want to have to power down the phantom 4 then removing the micro SD card then plugging it into an SD card reader to see my recorded videos and photos on the laptop. Please advise. Thanks.

That micro USB connection is used for either FW updates or as you noted for plugging directly into your PC to download your videos/photos. That's how I download my footage and rarely remove the microSD card, using the cable method is slower but I'm usually having a beer when I do it, so it's no biggie. If you want to have a quick preview of your footage without plugging the phantom into your PC, there is always the lower resolution copy of your footage on your device.
