I'm going to purchase a portable power supply to use with the ground end of the 2.4G datalink. I know you can use a Phantom battery but I'd prefer to use have a separate power source and leave my Phantom batteries charged. I'd appreciate any hearing from others who are doing this and the type of power supply they recommend.

I just use one of these, it's small and plenty of power for my groundstation, FPV receiver and monitor: http://www.readymaderc.com/store/index. ... cts_id=701

You would need to put a JST adapter on the power connector that came with your GS, or get one of these: http://www.readymaderc.com/store/index. ... cts_id=356

I know some people use the portable power banks like you see everywhere now for phones and tablets and they seem to work fine. I have one but it's 10000mAh and so it's easier to just use that one smaller batt for everything. If you don't have FPV components to worry about you might be better off getting a small version of one of those.
