Purchased in August of 2016.

This one is the GEN 1. I just bought a new one and it was a GEN 2, main difference is the laptop sleeve. I wish I had looked here first before buying mine this week :-(

Gen 2 can fit a15". I was able to fit a 15" macbook pro.

Hmmm...

Here it is with my 17" Asus.

And here with a 13" MacBook Air.

Pretty sure a 15" laptop would fit no problem... but I don't have one so I'm not sure.

From the pic it seems I was mistaken, the Gen 2 has a tablet sleeve upfront with the laptop. It appears you have accessories pocket, I have a tablet slot there.
