you didn't finalize the video by pressing stop on the recording, thus losing the last seconds of the video?

Thoughts:
A reel and B reel.
Plan to get 5 to 10 clips for the B reel
Film a variety of longer clips for the A reel.
Use at least 3 different locations for the A reel.
Edit final video down to 3 minutes in length
You will need about 6 minutes of usable A reel video to get to 3 minutes of final video.

I was thinking something like adding to my preflight checklist -shoot the dog-

I'm guessing you pulled back on the right stick too soon after pressing the record button making the end of the video stop abruptly. (since the video is in reverse)
