Just got a phantom for xmas and was wondering if any harm can be done by starting it up without the propellers on it?

I have run without propellers for troubleshooting purposes but I'm not sure giving it any significant throttle can be good. I'm sure those ESCs buried in the arms rely heavily on the draft from the props to blow into the vents and keep them cool.

i think during calibration they actually tell you to take them off.
but i think that was more for safety incase the motors started up by accident.

plus....i wouldnt want to start the motors if I couldnt fly it.....i mean....having the motors running but not able to take off would make me sad =(
