I see here that second long blinking green light (recording home point) happens AFTER starting motors.
I always start motors after I see the second green series so it happens BEFORE starting motors (many times because of not enough satellites).
I never tried to check auto landing to home position.
I guess it is okay to record home position, just need a confirmation.

I think it's just a matter of turning them on or off. It doesn't really matter what you do first. Some times I hover my Phantom at 8 feet to let it connect with all the satellites, and other days I just don't start it up until it's locked on to my home location. Don't see why it would be a problem?

Keep doing it your way, you are correct. The first set indicates CL is BEING recorded and the second set of rapid green blinks indicates CL has BEEN recorded successfully.
