FPV gear arrived yesterday, Phantom v1 (updated/recent model - w/ naza v2, gimbal control, 2 antennas) arrived today. Did a quick function test and quick flight outside. Ready to do some FPV tomorrow :)

Nice, all set up. Already have the good antennas as well....I need to upgrade. Now you're gonna want the can-bus with iOSD.
OSDs are shhhweet.

Looking good! Report back after your maiden! I have the same setup except a Mobius instead of a GoPro. iOSD is next! :D

What is your exact FPV setup? I'm looking to upgrade my 1.1.1 with FPV (gimbal already ordered and on its way) and am looking for ideas.

Phantom 1.1.1 w/ the Fat Shark Predator v2 kit. I deleted the filter/lead setup fatshark supplies and bought a couple cables from RMRC and tied directly into the balance lead for vtx power. Using the following cables:

JST Female to Molex Power Adapter (ImmersionRC/FatShark) [697]
Item# IRC-FS-TX-POWERCABLE

JST-XH 3s Balance to JST-Male Battery Style Connector [500]
Item# JSTXH3S-JSTBAT

Right now, I'm utilizing the GoPro as the FPV camera, but as soon as I figure out how to mount the FatShark supplied camera, I will mount that. With that said, I'm using the RMRC cable for the GoPro 2 wired into the vtx:

GoProHD Camera Cable (ImmersionRC/FatShark Style) [290]
Item# GOPROIRCCABLE

Very simple setup. No frills, nothing too involved or complex.

This is the FatShark kit I got and the camera. If any of you have any hints on how I should mount it, please share!

Check out D3weys 600tvl cam holder on shapeways.

I did see that, but wasn't sure how that would work with the go pro. The go pro already sits above the ground by maybe a 1/4", this mount would definitely push everything down too far.

I'm thinking I may just carve out some foam and shove the camera into that, then velcro it to the battery door.

Yeah, it is a bit low. When I ran the P1 shell I just put some velcro on the back of the cam and stuck it to the battery door. With the P2 shell I might drill a hole in the shall and poke it through like someone else did(ronin or EMC) Either way I would like to have a dedicated FPV cam, but so far the gopro hasnt been a problem.

Maiden FPV flight went well. Didn't do much, just slow forward hovering about 80 yards out. Still working out how I want the camera angle and getting used to the whole FPV thing - definitely a different experience!

Need to do more testing, but I was getting more break up in the video feed at 80 yards than I was expecting.

Well, decided to take it beyond LOS a bit, then got scared. :D

Not really 'long range', but far enough for me right now. :)

Not sure if I had a moment where I lost control, or if it was just the wind fighting me after I turned around. Either way, figured it was a good time to test RTH. :D
