Wow that is fantastic , award winner . Were you aware of the bird before you got up there. ?
Thank you sir.... actually I was doing a livestream and I have seen this particular hawk a few months ago during the cold...and I know he resided up there but the last few times I went back I never seen him or her, even driving home I passed this particular tower and that bird was like a ghost... .... so anyway during this particular livestream i decided to go check the radio tower out and I happened to pick him right out as I was getting close (about 200 ft away)....which was pretty cool being live! I didn't want to get too close so I snapped some pictures and then I was out of there;) he was very chill. Did not look like I bothered him or her at all, the hawk just observed me.... pretty sure it realized that i wasn't anything edible or I would have been done!

Very cool. What type of bird is it?

RISKY IMO. But beautiful pictures! P4p does indeed have a terrific camera. Every time hawks and eagles see my drone, I land it, because of their territorial nature, two things could happen. One. They could ignore it. Two, they will catch it and annihilate it! But, advice aside, not trying to ruin the party, those pictures are great, award winning!

Oh of course i agree. And thank u

Nice shot. Ah, the wonders of 20 megapixels!

Yup, birds of prey are a concern all the time. I'm often thinking about strategy to avoid them. They fly pretty fast, but mostly going down. I think that if I had one in pursuit, I would try a rapid ascent to evade it. Sort of like running downhill from a bear--bears can't run as fast downhill, so that's your best strategy if you have to escape. I doubt that birds can fly straight up, so gaining altitude quickly may get your drone far enough away that the bird loses interest in it. Perhaps others have had this experience and can relate their thoughts on best bird evasion strategies?
