Phantom 3 no software to support?

Hi all,
I was thinking of purchasing a really nice phantom 3 standard for a good price.
I have read the software is no longer supported by DJI, is there any way around this or can other software be used.
I am on iOS, cheers.

I think you mean "firmware."

Be careful referring to the P3S as a Phantom 3 (as in your title). It's important not to confuse a P3S with any of the other Phantom 3 series drones.

Have no fear Young Grasshopper, for all roads lead to Litchi. You only need DJI Go to register the drone in the unlikely event that has not been done already and for some of the more obscure calibration procedures.

With Litchi, your Phantom 3 Standard, Advanced, Professional or 4K versions can all fly fully autonomous waypoint missions far beyond visual line of sight and even beyond the signal range of the drone's controller, IF BVLOS flying is allowed for you as it is for me in my neck of the woods.

Litchi's Mission Hub is FREE for planning waypoint missions on your desktop, and the Litchi app costs an affordable $25 for as many Android devices as you have or the same $25 for any number of IOS devices you may be using for drone flying.

You will only need to buy BOTH the Android and IOS versions of Litchi IF you to use both Android and IOS devices for your drone flying. The icing on the cake is that, unlike DJI Go, Litchi will NEVER try and force you to accept DJI firmware downloads that usually restrict the number of locations your drone can fly.

you mean the app for the phone, its called the DJI GO app and can be downloaded from here

Also you dont need to register, however you do need to create an account at dji website which you will use to login to the app.

Dont buy litchi app, its not for you until you have flown for at least a few months

Litchi is dead easy to use and does not require advanced knowledge to use unless one intends to create waypoint flight plans. I don't use DJI Go or DJI Go4 unless it is for the purpose of calibrating a variable that Litchi is not capable of calibrating.

Its easy for someone who has flown for a while, for a newbie i dont recommend using any other app than the DJI, just a personal observation

Agree. Sticking with DJI in the early days and weeks of flying forces the pilot to learn the fundamentals of piloting so that they become instinctive. Moving forward from there, Litchi is fantastic.

There's nothing to worry about.
Not supporting the software simply means that DJI is no longer providing updates.
But the software is still available and still works as well as ever.

btw .. The Standard is far from DJI's best drone.
It was released 9 years ago, back in the drone stone age.
Even when new it was already obsolete.
It was a budget version of the other Phantom 3 models that were released earlier and outperformed the Standard by a long way.
