had a little crash broke gimble yaw arm and ripped ribbon, fitted new arm and ribbon, now on startup gimble just goes crazy.uesd aftermarket ribbon not a dji one could that be the problem

Yes, it could be... (but it's still not guaranteed that's the problem)

Many people here have reported problems with non-OEM ribbon cables and it's often best to buy the genuine article, just to be sure....
 
I agree with the others. I don't know how many times we've told people to only use an OEM ribbon cable. I've said this a few times before, but I don't think that I've ever heard anyone say that they had success with an aftermarket ribbon cable. Seems like it should not matter I know, but we've seen countless times that once an OEM cable is used that all is suddenly better.
