Phantom 2 - strange lights behaviour

Hello all
I have two P2's, they have not been used for a few months. But recently I took them outside for testing, and I noticed a strange thing about the lights. (I fly in NAZA mode).
I calibrate and make sure I have GPS lock, lights are flashing slowly green. I take off, and hover. Lights still slowly flashing green. But as soon as I touch the sticks on the remote, the lights start flashing faster. When I release the sticks the lights slow down. Seems like as soon as it receives signal from the transmitter, the lights flashes faster. I have not noticed this behaviour earlier. Is it normal? Could it be because I have upgraded the firmware?
Flying is OK, I have full control, and the P2 behaves perfectly.

Yes, this is normal and you basically have it right.

As soon as you add control/stick input you'll get 'double-flashes'.

DJI has done a great job utilizing those LEDs to convey a great deal of information.
