New to the quad world. Just ordered a new PH2 w/ H3-3D & GoPro Hero3+ Black, FLySight Black Pearl 7" 5.8Ghz RX & DJI iOSD Mini

Looking to put FPV on it, and was hoping some of you could point me in the right direction.

The list of items I had put together for FPV are below:

inmersionrc 600mw
http://www.getfpv.com/5-8ghz-600mw-video-tx.html

Items I know I still need, and am looking for recommendations:
Mount for FlySight Black Perl (To Stock Controller?)
Plug and Play Cable Kit?
Better antennas for both TX and RX..

Is there any vendor who carries all of the above instead of piece-mealing the whole thing?

Any suggestions on a simple plug and play kit that you can provide would be very much appreciated.

Was hoping to put this kit together before the weekend if possible, any vendors on the east coast of the US would be great.

Please let me know if the choices I have made so far are out of line with what works well. I've been able to piece together much of the information above by browsing this and other forums.

Which model of the Black Pearl did you order? There's a 7 channel model that's compatible with the Immersion transmitter you listed, and a 32-channel model that's compatible with DJI and other transmitters. Since you've already ordered the monitor, your choice in transmitters will be restricted to whichever model black pearl you're getting.

I ordered this one:

http://www.dronefly.com/product-p/7-inch-monitor.htm

My understanding of the 32 Channel one was that is is compatible with the ImmersionRC + DJI, Boscam and Fatshark and the 7 channel supported LESS.

From the page I ordered it says it supports ImmersionRC and others? Is this the better unit?

Updating for everyone else's benefit that may come along later.

I placed an order for:

Rave Aerial DJI/Bracket
http://www.raveaerialvideo.com/product/ ... tor-mount/

Rave Aerial H3-3D Travel Bracket
http://www.raveaerialvideo.com/product/ ... l-bracket/

ImmersionRC Spironet CP Patch Antenna (RX) - For the Black Pearl Monitor
http://www.getfpv.com/5-8-ghz-spironet- ... tenna.html

ImmersionRC 5.8Ghz Spironet Antenna Set (TX/RX) - 1 for the Black Pearl Monitor, one for the ImmersionRC 600mw TX
http://www.getfpv.com/5-8-ghz-spironet- ... t-sma.html

ImmersionRC 5.8Ghz 600mw TX
http://www.getfpv.com/5-8ghz-600mw-video-tx.html

Is there any other cabling or anything I need or should order?

The 32-channel model is advertised as being "compatible" with the Immersion gear, but the channels aren't matched exactly and performance suffers as a result. The 7-channel model is compatible with ONLY the Immersion gear (not DJI or boscam or any others), but the channels ARE matched exactly with it so you'll have better performance all around.

Well that sucks.. LOL.. I'll try and cancel my order and find the 7 channel version elsewhere to order.

149 units in stock. Pick the SMA version for the 7 channel (F band).

Update - Ended up having to cancel my order for the the Black Pearl (I ordered the 32 Channel version).

I found a 7 channel version (works better with the ImmersionRC TX) according to all info I can find. So that's on now.

Does anyone know any vendors that carry the DJI Mini IOSD & ImmersionRC cable in the US?

I am leaving for a trip this weekend so was hoping to get one before then. Otherwise I'll have to wire/solder it all up if I have enough time. Is there a good guide anywhere?

Is there anything else I am missing here?

My Black Pearl 32 has one channel that receives the Immersion/Fat Shark 5.8 video feed from my bird's 600 mw transmitter. I'm going to try the Boscam 832 600 mw transmitter in a couple of days so that I can program a channel that will let diversity mode work on the Black Pearl. My present setup only locks on one antenna and the one channel of the Black Pearl. I'm using the Fat Shark RHCP antennae on the bird and one side, and the other Black Pearl antenna is the stock dipole. Don't know if that is the reason why I only receive on the one channel. Maybe a second RHCP antenna on the receiver might allow diversity mode to work. Just another in a long list of mysteries to figure out!

First... HOLY THREAD RESURRECTION BATMAN!!!

Ok... I'm sorta new to FPV and this site was tons of help. Here's what I've learned:

I have the 7-channel Black Pearl, and it has Diversity Mode. The first thing you need to check is if you are actually in Diversity Mode. When you cycle through the inputs, you'll see one called DIV. If that's selected, you should see the blue lights at the antennas shift from one side to the other... which brings me to the second thing: the Black Pearl should stick to the strongest signal, so whatever one is lit is the one it's using.

Lastly, make sure that both ANT1 and ANT2 are on the same channel.

I'm hoping that someone else will chime in to (hopefully) agree with me on these points...

Your advice is MOST appreciated, Ken!
for a newby like myself, the rapid learning curve required for the Phantom and it's Phantom Assistant software (MOST important), learning the GoPro camera, figuring out the Black Pearl and associated channels, installing and figuring out what the hell everything involved needs to be fed and cared for, let alone trying to fly the **** Phantom with the air of complete confidence and control (still working on that, I'm afraid!), to get additional tips as you have suggested make this journey most satisfying and enjoyable. Each of us attempt find our own way through the maze of choices and decisions, but when the journey is aided with the help of even the smallest tip from others, it becomes even more enjoyable. Again, thank you for yet another tip to resolve some minor issues!
