Hi

I'm visiting the US sometime in July and was thinking to purchase a phantom 2.

Been looking at B&H Photo website and doing some reading online.

I was thinking, is this possible to build?

-buy the phantom 2
-buy the Zenmuse H3-3D
-use my gopro
-and use iosDmini i think for fpV to connect to my iphone? (i may be confused this with something else?)

You should get the Phantom 2 with Zenmuse H3-3D gimbal included (not separate). And then yes, use your GoPro Hero3 Black. However, iOSD Mini only overlays flight information onto an existing video feed - It does not transmit video for FPV. For that, you need to get a video transmitter (such as the DJI AVL58 transmitter/receiver combo). You can not receive FPV video through your iPhone or Android device. For that, you will need either a monitor or goggles. The best route to take would be to buy a nice video transmitter and buy a nice monitor with built in receiver, specifically made for FPV flying, and also buy and install iOSD Mini to get the flight data overlayed onto the FPV video.

For FPV i recommend this:

Here is a very cheap FPV setup, you can get 1km+ range with this setup, its a nice start to FPV.
And if you use a directional antenna on the receiver you could go above 2km.

Boscam TS351: http://j.mp/1iwjZzR
Boscam TS353 400mw: http://j.mp/1gJ6t7s
Boscam receiver RC305 5.8Ghz: http://j.mp/1cRoJjy

RC305 + TS353 combo: http://j.mp/1iuhzQ6

Antennas (circular polarized)
cloverleaf antenna to rx: http://j.mp/1arIRFU
Cloverleaf antenna to tx: http://j.mp/1dG8kbW

7" LCD: http://j.mp/1d7kwsr
Boscam 7" RX-LCD5802 5.8GHz Diversity Receiver: http://j.mp/1lZuham

Just to show how well this setup works here is a video i found on youtube (4.6 km on minute 8:14), in the description is the setup used, and you can read RC305 and TS351, just like this setup:

and im sweet to go for fpv ?

No, ts353 on the phantom and LCD + rc305 or TS353 + boscam LCD 5802 with battery and receiver built in.

thanks dude. now i got an idea on what to buy,

edit:
just having a look at the prices from dronefly, i found this package.

http://www.dronefly.com/ProductDetails. ... de=P2G-PCK

that looks like what i want but minus maybe 2 batteries. 2k seems ok maybe a bit more for labour. what you reckon?

I want this set also.

Is there a tutorial or video about how to build it in the phantom?

Hi,

Why do you need also the cloverleaf antenna?

Is this optional? And where to put them? On your lcd?
