Hi I have done what apparently a lot of people do when being new with phantoms, I took the prop guards off and fitted the bolts back in and locked my props up, after realising I took them out, the motors start and takes off but now it don’t hover anymore and shoots to the ground? Would this be the damaged motors of something else?

Most likely.
What happens is the screws damage the motor coils.
So they may ‘operate’ but cannot sustain flight.

Great I’m going to order new motors but just wanted to make sure that was what I needed, thanks.

You can typically look into the bottom and see the damage.
Best not to operate as it MAY cause damage to motor ESCs too.

I did actually try and run it before I realised what I did and then I stopped, when I look at the bottom of the motors you can see where the bolts have pushed the inside of the motors “copper looking bits?..” in a little bit?..

Yup.
That’s it.
New motors should get you back in the air.

I cover the end of the long screws in red as a reminder that those are too long when I take off the guards. I stopped using guards altogether now though.
