My P4 will arrive 16 December in South Africa. As I bought it outside of South Africa I will not get any support from local dealers.
My worries
Fly away- how often does this happen and how can I prevent this.
P4 Failure- just dropping from the sky

I need info on what to do to prevent these things from happening.

Thanks

Very, very rarely.
By learning as much as you can about how it works and how to fly it.
Almost all "flyaways" are a result of confused or disoriented operators.
Pack in the days of the P1 and P2 it was easy to lose your Phantom and tell everyone that it flew away.
Since the P3, Phantoms have a flight data recorder in the app and it's been possible to investigate the actual flight data and see what really caused the incident.
Remarkably few "flyaways" turn out to be a real flyaway
P4 Failure- just dropping from the sky
Again, very rarely.
Always fly with a fully charged battery.

I'm a relative new flyer too. Use beginner mode when you start out. Restricts you to 30m high and 30m radius from you. You can change at any time in the app, but it works well. Fly in an open field and the drone will keep you in bounds.
