New P4 Pro. After a number of flights. 1200ft away drone just drops out the sky. It was within los and no obstacles. I just saw it drop with a aircraft disconnected message on the DJI App.

Flight logs attached.

Any insight would be appreciated thanks

Nothing in these logs to indicate any issues. If possible, you will need to retrieve the .dat file from the AC to determine what occurred. These logs just suddenly end at 127ft in altitude, with no indications of any issues. This sounds like a sudden and complete power loss, aka a dislodged battery. A prop would not cause this, unless there was a simultaneous loss of downlink along with a prop failure. ( Doubtful ).
See this link to retrieve the .dat file. You will need to upload that file to a sharable location such as Dropbox, Google Drive etc...and share that link back here.

Hit one of the two radio antennas on that street? There are obstacles in that area.

I'm very sure it didnt hit any antennas.
Right -- your log doesn't show a collision. It looks like the battery popped out mid-flight (maybe due to it not being inserted properly).

A sudden battery anomoly is a distinct possibility. One anomoly: There is a spring-like tension that pushes out on the battery as you seat it, that’s supposed to lock it in place. Inflight vibration can push a not-so-seated battery off it’s contact points. You’ll either get one of many warning lights and just make it back (if you’re lucky like me) or it’ll just go 100% disconnected and drop from the sky. Both end results have happened to a number of pilots. SOLUTION: Seat the battery once... push it twice.

This is not the correct .dat file. It is only a 7 second power up.

Why would the battery pop out? I can think of a good reason. Logs don't show collisions, though sensors will sometime show the avoidance of one.

In this case the Phantom was a quarter mile away with "no obstacles"... yet, there are two tall radio towers right where is crashed.

Why would the battery pop out?
Even if the battery doesn't fully pop out, it can slide out just far enough to disconnect the battery contacts if the battery is not fully clipped into place. Unfortunately, the P4P does not have a sensor like the P4P V2 to alert the pilot when the battery is not inserted properly. See more details here.

Thankyou for reaffirming my previous reply-observation. Your reference about the P4p V2 sensor is a good mention.

My point is that a collision with an object could cause a battery to disconnect. So the battery could have disconnected... because of a collision.

True. However, there were no obstacles near the drone at the last location in the flight log.

@Odysseus Vrakas Just for the sake of argument, before you go in to uploading another log file. Was the battery located within lets say 5-6 feet of the aircraft when you retrieved it? If Yes, then by all means we could look at another file. Otherwise, a bit farther away would be a really good indicator that the battery indeed came loose in flight.

GPS can easily be off by any number of feet. The Phantom could have actually been on the other side of the street.
Hang in there, friend. We'll have the correct DAT in hand soon enough ;)

The big question is... does the standard warranty (not DJI Care) cover damage caused by an inflight battery-disconnect of a perfectly good battery and contact clip?
