P3A latest firmware downgrade

Although DJI said once you update your advanced to the latest firmware @1.8 you cannot go back to 1.7 that's a lie, it can be done and my quad is now back one level down @ 1.7 but I would like to go back even further, but the next bin file listed in their down loads is a 1.4 and when I try to go down to this FW I get a failure message and a (try a different FW version message in the results). Ultimately my goal is to go back to 1.4 for the craft and also go back to a previous version of the GO app for my apple mini 2 tablet. That's where I started before all the hoopla began. Can anyone help guide me?
