P3 standard slight gimbal noise - normal?

Just got my new toy and it's waiting for its first flight. There is a little bit of gimbal noise when the quad is powered and stationary (a low level constant buzz which I can hear as it's indoors).

The noise level doesn't change when I move the P3 around. It does get somewhat louder at extreme roll when it's right at the limit of its range. Otherwise it looks like it's working properly.

Never owned a gimbal setup before - is some noise normal or are these supposed to be totally quiet?

I have a 4K, and when I start up my gimbal makes the same noise. Think it's normal.

Ditto. Mine makes a slight electric noise at rest and a much louder and jarring noise at the limits of the range of motion.

The gimbal has a fan on it. Maybe you are hearing the noise of the fan working.

It's a standard which doesn't have a fan like the advance/pro as I understand?

I was surprised to see this. I was unaware that there was a fan component to my gimbal.

So does your gimbal make some noise when powered?

yeah I'm pretty sure it does make the faintest "electrics powered up" type noise at baseline. To be honest I'm very comfortable with my setup, I only notice if something is different.
