One beep or two on your transmitter

Is it true that when you turn your transmitter on if it beeps once it is in CE mode and twice it is in FCC mode?
Mine beeps twice, but I never switched it to FCC.

That is correct :

1 beep = 25mw CE
2 beeps = 125mw FCC
