Here is my first flyable quad, made from aluminum box tube (recycled from a rooftop TV aerial), DVD tub, 3S 2200mAh lipo from my 450 helis, home made power distro, lots of solder, a hobbyking multi gyro, DX6i and Sprektrum RX. No flying aids on this thing, 4 min max flight before plummeting to the ground. Lots of fun!
750mm diagonal motor to motor, around 1.6kg - a big old lump, but wind wasn't an issue.

Stand back kids, daddy is going to have some fun! It looks as easy to fly as standing up straight on a basket ball. Nice work building your quad from recycled parts.

It was a handful! I donated it to a RAF cadet force, they fly it for fun.
and yes, it was like balancing on a ball, still easier to fly than a heli!
