If the battery is "Bad" as in will not hold a charge or significant loss of capacity - there is a good chance of the internal chemistry going bad or a short. This makes the battery unsafe to ship and I certainly wouldnt use it as a demo.

Also, the rules on shipping LIPOs/LiION have changed in 2016 - its sort of a PITA to ship them now unless installed the equipment or packed with the equipment it is designed for. Just a heads up.

what do you teach that your were going to use LIPOS as a demo?

Computers and different types of lipo batteries. That even batteries have computers built inside of them.
