Off the wall - pay twice or just once in app stores?

I have a Litchi for IOS which I paid $15-20 for. It appears to me now that the Android app has some Orbit features I'd like to try that IOS does not.

If I have the same email for the play store as I do for the App Store, do I have to pay twice, once for the app in for each platform? Or if I paid for one do I get both formats if I notify the author?

Yes, they are from different stores so you pay them both. No different than buying an item at Walmart, you can't get a free one from Target.

I'm new to drones and downloaded the DJI go app per the guy I bought the drone from. Is Litchi much different? One much better than the other?

Each of the many apps offer different features. It's best to get started mastering all the functions of the DJI Go app. Then start looking at Litchi, Autopilot and others for features you might be interested in and go from there.
