Just wanted to give a hats off to DJI and the phantom 4. Was taking some video and pics today off of Skyline Drive in the Bay Area. A guy happened to be parked near by and came over to chat about my Phantom. We were talking about the drone and general stuff and I wasn't paying attention to my bird. I noticed an obstacle avoidance alert pop up as I was just about to fly into some tall pine trees. Noticed the alert and immediately gained attitude to get over the trees and bring my drone home.
Could have been an expensive momentary lapse of attention. Hats off to DJI and their obstacle avoidance, in this case it worked perfectly.
