Has anyone around here been flying in the past 2 weeks?
I wrote to the FAA Hotline and explained that they are showing, in their B4UFLY app, a drone with a large X through it, and a notice of a restricted flight area in an appropriate 50 mile radius around Bedminster, NJ. This is the 'Summer Whitehouse' for our POTUS. I explained that I didn't fully understand the restriction because I see single engine aircraft over the area at all times of the day.
They promptly wrote me back instructing me to call their office at Teterboro Airport. When I called I was greeted with a message that stated that the office is closed to the public, and if I wished to conduct official business with the FAA I should listen to the prompts and make an appointment. OK.
So.... I put all this in a notification to the FAA on their website last week - silence to this point.
Bummed!
