I'm interested in FPV flying in a tight mountain valley in central Washington State. GPS is easily available but we effectively have no southern horizon at all, so for example Iridium satellite access for phones is sketchy.
No RC flying experience, and the area I will fly in is steep and heavily wooded. So my plan is...

1. buy a DJI Phantom Quadcopter with GoPro Mount Version 1.1.1, put a GoPro on it,
2. practice flying with it in the immediate area around the cabin until I feel overconfident and see what the issues are
3. then add the FPV gear

I'm assuming I should start w/o the FPV stuff.
Are there already other threads on this forum I should look at for information?
What say you?

I would keep the gopro in the housing instead of using the mount that comes with the phantom until you get use to flying her .
GL!
