Hi guys,

Just bought my P3 Professional today, have only had it a few hours and planned to upgrade the FW today then take it out tomorrow. Not looking good though.

I've successfully upgraded the RC firmware using the DJI Go App, and an iPad Air.

My problem comes when I'm trying to upgrade the Craft & Battery firmware with the SD card to P3X_FW_V01.06.0040.bin.

Here's a video of where I'm getting: (apologies for the noise, I guess something was making my phone go crazy).

Dropbox - IMG_0469.MOV

I get:
  1. Normal startup
  2. Short two beeps (D/D/-/-)
  3. Long Intermittent Beeps: (D/D/D/D/D/D) with flashing red/green gimbal light.
  4. 3/4 minutes of this
  5. Long Solid Continuous Tone (D) indicating failure
It's worth noting that the above has been the past 5/6 times, the first time I had the typical beeps that are congruous with a firmware upgrade, followed by around 20mins, followed by a solid tone.

Here's what I've tried:
  • Doing this 10+ times.
  • The above with and without controller connected (mostly without as advised)
  • A different device - an iPhone 6 Plus.
  • A different SD card - a 64gb one which doesn't even appear to be recognised (doesn't show up in DJI GO App but is formatted MS-FAT).
  • Powering it off, removing battery
  • Leaving for 30mins
Any advice? Really looking forward to getting stuck in but they don't make it easy :(

Thanks so much in advance,
Andy

remove the sd card from your phantom and format it than down load the firmware to the sd card and try it again.
if this dosen't work try useing a different sd card.
sometimes the sd card will take a dump on you and will have to be replaced.

Just a quick question, did you power it up and check the operation when you first got it to see if all was working normal before the upgrade?

@Dirby - thanks, I've re-formatted both cards in as many ways as I can think, to be honest as I know they can be temperamental. I also bought the 'best' 64GB one I could from Amazon, although that's not always a guarantee of quality...

@Leenanj - I followed the Quick Start Guide; charged the RC and battery, downloaded the DJI Go App, updated the RC then started to update the FW on the Battery & Craft. So no, it's never been "operational" per se, never really got past the first few steps!

Thanks,
ANdy

I went through exactly what your going through, I was ready to pack it up and return it.
Then by chance I noticed this plug half way out.

And here's the hidden one attached.
In the log file, it shows so many modules not being detected. That could be an indicator of loose or unplugged cables. I've seen that reported here and on the RC forum.

EDIT: @Leenanj - sorry I didn't see your post as I was typing mine.

Great! I've been in similar situations and it's always fantastic to resolve an issue with the help of others. As a collective we've probably faced and solved every possible problem at one time or another. Happy flying!
