i don't know if anyone can answer this my be solent can cast a light on it
i bought 4x phantom 2 compatible batteries brand new
i went out today to test them gave them all a full charge (4 leds) the outside temp was 10/11 degrees C
battery 1 lasted 30 seconds of flight time then the low battery warning leds flashing and the drone landed
battery 2 / 3 / 4 all did the same thing
after 2 hour upon returning home battery 1 /2 showed 2 solid green leds
battery 3 for a strange reason showed 3 solid leds and the 4th one flashing (so went from 1 1/2 leds to 3+1 flashing in the 2 hour none use span time
battery 4 went from 2 solid leds to 4 solid green leds (as though fully charged) again in the 2 hour of none use span time
also the critical red warning leds came on when the batteries were showing 2 solid green leds
i charged them all up to full before the flight but they seemed to discharge down in flight very rapidly (in a matter of 30 seconds to 90 seconds of flight
does these have to be charge cycled a few times or are there batteries faulty (crap)
if so i will contact paypal

thanks all Ian

Hi no your batteries should be fully charged the first time no charge cycles or anything like that it sounds like bad batteries are these dji or aftermarket batteries

after market the reason for buying was i could not find any new genuine ones on the internet

My advice would be to contact seller/Paypal and send them back for a refund. You are asking for trouble using aftermarket batteries. You never really know what you are getting, and putting your drone at risk.

Stay with OEM DJI batteries. I'm sure someone on the Forum can recommend a seller of original P2 batteries. Good luck. [emoji106]

I went looking for new OEM batteries for a P2 a few years ago and they were hard to find. I wound up buying a used OEM battery on eBay. Worked well.

Hi, the other option is to repack the batteries that you have with new cells-either yourself or by a battery specialist like the ones who repack cordless tool batteries. There was a post on this forum some time ago by someone who repacked them himself, and as I recall it was successful.

Contact the seller, I have purchased 3rd party battery for the P2 from the aliexpress and its working same as the original, from the first flight it was as it should be, no need to recharge it few times to get the capacity. If it doesnt fly from the start - its probably faulty.

Glad it's all worked out.Could you post a link to the Aliexpress battery,as I have a P2 and need another battery?

Hello, original link is not available any more but some are still available via aliexpress search, they looks the same as the one I have purchased so I guess its the same manufacturer / model, good luck!
