How many amps should I charge my batteries at or on?

I bought a battery charger at a garage sale and it has a dial that goes to six amps. My regular charger did all that for me.

11.1V 5500mah 35c on how many amps?

11.1V 2500mah 28c?

11.1V 2500mah 30c?

Thanks.

You should always charge LiPo's at "1C" unless they're specifically rated to accept more.

1C = mAh/1000

So, for a 5500mAh battery, 1C = 5.5A
For a 2500mAh battery, 1C = 2.5A

Don't get those confused with the "28C" or "30C" ratings you see printed on the batts, those refer to the maximum discharge rate they can handle.

I will do just exactly like OI Photography said, but there will be others that claim charging at over 5C will do no harm and can speed up the charge time considerably. I will keep checking the pack temperature too.

I've just picked up a nice charger and 1200 watt power supply.

I can't see anywhere on the stock Phantom 1 batteries which states the charge rating limits. I charged them twice at twice at 2c, and seem to have suddenly lost about 30% of my flight time.

What rating can we charge the stock 2200's at? I'm going back to 1C.
