While I typically shoot daytime with my ND8, I'm hoping to get some evening/sunset video while on vacation. That said, do most of you use an ND4 for this, or simply replace the Filter with the stock UV cover?

My typical settings are as follows: 1080P @ 24fps. Shutter at 50, and all video is shot in D-Log.

I generally use the stock filter in low light. for sunset I use a 5 image bracketed shot merged in Photoshop. You can try the in camera HDR, but I didn't see much benefit from it.

I use Polar Pro's app. You input the settings you are shooting at and it puts in a recommendation for what ND filter to use.

I agree with "alokbhargava". No filter or maybe just UV filter for photos. For video, I always shoot "shutter at 2x frame rate" So (1080P @ 24fps. Shutter at 50) is perfect for video, but no filter either. here is one I took a week ago and how I did it.
