Just curious if anyone has ever thought of building a simple carbon fibre frame and putting their Phantom guts into it? Can't imagine it would be that tough to do. Did some searching but can't find anything on the net showing anything of the sort. Given how much $$ we Phantom owners seem keen on dumping into our hobby I'm surprise there aren't kits for this lol. Tons of simple bare frames out there, but none I could find tailor made to a Phantom's pre existing specs for a simple cross over install.

Anyone seen it done, or done it themselves? Be interesting to see the weight savings gained.

people put their phantoms onto 450 frames all the time. The reason you don't see kits is because the reasoning behind the phantom is a small footprint. Toss it into your backpack and travel fast. When you move it to a larger frame, you lose this ability. You can't go smaller because you are restricted on your props.

Well, you could move down to an f330 with 8" props. But you're even more payload limited on that frame!
