I took my P3A up today to see how far I could take it before RTH kicked in. I made it 11,218 ft out. 22,771 total. I had a tree line on the other side of the highway. Real test will be true line of site no obstructions at the beach. If I can ever get good weather and time to go. Here is my flight.

Hey congrats on your personal best Mike - hmm - let's see 11,218ft / 5,280ft = 2.12 miles x 2 = 4.24 miles - very nice!

I have a P3A also and haven't tried that yet - so fill me in a little here if you don't mind.....

1. Was the flight with "stock" antennae's and no booster?

2. How much throttle were you using?

3. Did it just auto kick into RTH and did you let it return on RTH or cancel and fly it back?

4. How much battery did you have left?

5. AND.............How were the nerves on that flight?

Thanks and continued safe flying - looks like you chose a good spot for the flight also!

Stock p3A, full throttle, I let RTH bring it back but I gave it full throttle, 50%, no nerves since I know that RTH works [emoji3]
I would line to see how far I can go before the RTH kicks in because of battery power low. Also, I try to fly into the wind as best as I can when I go out in straight path so I can use the wind to my advantage on the way back.

Thanks Mike - appreciate it - good to know!

I did notice the 50% on the battery life after my post - that's great considering you had an 0:11:30 flight.

Now all I need is some nicer weather - and then my personal best for distance will be ready to go.

Great flight Mike.
About a week ago I did a long flight with mine P3a with range extenders. Got out little over 14000 ft. I knew I was going to fight a wind coming back so I turned around at 14200. I landed with about 33 % left. No tree just a few power lines. I keep it at 200 high.

At the same spot I was at, there is s good line of site with no obstructions other then those tall power lines out in the fields. I would be going perpendicular to them. I don't know how tall they are but can't imagine them being 400' [emoji3]. I would need a good east or southeast wind to come back in a hurry if I went out too far or RTH from low battery. [emoji3]

Here's my farthest distance one way. I can make 13K or greater but am running out of room. P3 Pro, only mod is windsurfers. My farthest round trip is 42,000 ft. just about 8 miles.. Took off 100% battery landed with 11%. I live in a populated area, but very little interference.

Impressive.

today y fly 11000 feet or 3.3 Km away almost 7.6 Km round trip .... no even a single line of the signal or the video was lost in all the fly, video and signal completely fluid all the time, i live at 8530 feets above sea level so i only get 15- 16 minutes of battery so i have to return before RTH ...and also because I get nervous... i use a windsurfer antenna that i print and it works incredible...

Brave man! You put up the video yet? Would love to see it.
No video. I was so focused on distance that I forgot to hit the record button. [emoji3] plus here where I'm at there is nothing to see over the open land. Here is s pic from the last flight in the same area
