Firmware upgrades are optional. If you want to see if there is a newer version of the firmware available, compare the version in the "General Settings" --> "About" section of DJI GO to the version listed in Phantom release notes.

OK.. looks like I've got latest FW for bird, 1.10.90 RC is 1.8.0 & APP is 3.1.10
So what about the DJI re-registering/log in upgrade hoopla..?
