Hi guys

anyone have tried mounting gopro below the vision+ camera ?
i know some of you dont like the camera of vision+

so was wondering if someone tried using GoPro as the video camera recorder
and the original vision+ camera as your FPV.

will the gimball still work ?

I posted the same question recently. The P2V+ should be able to handle the extra payload, but I doubt the gimbal would behave properly. It's too early in the life of the product for people to have tried oddball experiments. Mine's on order, so if I discover it can be done (either attached to the gimbal or just to the chassis) I'll certainly share the info. :)

They took most of the electronics out of the camera and mounted it up above so that much smaller motors could be used in the gimbal for the camera.

One of two things would happen:

#1 it just flat out wont work with the extra weight (most likely)
#2 it does work at first, but the motors will quickly get worn out.

Thanks, MikesTooLz. My monitor screen is now all dirty with fingerprints, trying to kill that **** insect crawling around!

Contemplate a bit more. Why would you bother?
The idea is plain dopey.
The tiny motors and fragile gimbal are made to handle the minimal weight of the P2+ camera.
They aren't going to deal with the added weight.

I think you would trash the gimbal on the P2V+. I did to do this to mine and the video taken with the Gopro 4 is outstanding. But pretty jerky. Also the phantom is working pretty hard with it attached
