I have assumed p4 motor can be CCW or CW but seen vid were chap claims there not and to identify which is which the motors have dots similar to the grey and black id on top casing, is this true?

There are specific CCW and CW motors. If you need to purchase some, here are a few places where you can find them:

2312S CCW Phantom 4 Motors

2312S CW Phantom 4 Motors

According China fits p4/4pro part no 2312s CW CCW any ideas? If they are not both CCW CW then probably why getting ESC 4 err as motor not rotating correct way?

Found the solution motors are both CCW and CW the rotation is governed by white plastic fitting on top of motor which two have black dots

I don't know exactly the way this motors are working but as I remember from school if you switch contacts (+ for -) you get the opposite rotation. Correct me.

The + - swap would be for brushed dc motors which only have two wires. These three phase brush-less dc motors have three wires. If you do not have the proper rotation then swap the location of ANY TWO wires and the rotation will reverse.
