No difference in the motors between the Pro and Advanced ... or almost everything else except the Pro camera has a fan and extra chip.
They did change the motors a few months after the P3 was released though.
The original ones had knobby tops and the new ones were flat and star-shaped.

These are the only two motor models released for the Phantom 3:

Will check them out. Even the wife noticed difference

Yes have one of each style star style on advanced and square on pro

Just overall sound in flight the pro is much louder
That's odd. They use the same motors, same props, same flight controller, same body, landing gear etc etc.
The pro probably has a warped prop or two.

When the new motors came out, many people noted that they were quieter. I saw the same when I got my second P3 and it had new motors.

Since you have the new motors on your P3A and the old motors on your P3P, my expectation would be that your P3A is quieter. Since that is exactly what you have reported here, my take is that all is normal so don't worry.

Here's a comparison from back in the day...

Old thread but here's the info for new searchers.
The newer motors have a 4mm shaft unlike the older 3mm shaft. I have both Phantom 3 Pro with 4mm and Phantom 3 SE with 3mm. 4mm motor uses 4 x 12 x 4mm top bearing and 4 x 9 x 4mm lower bearing. The 3mm shaft version has 3 x 8 x 4mm top and bottom bearings.

Hi, please, are both motor version compatible for P3pro? I have just replace old model with new one and ESC error has turn out. Thank you. Radim
