Hey guys,

Is there such a thing as more powerful motors that will replace the DJI installed standard ones ?

I am sort of thinking if there were, it much be a simple fix to make the phantom lift a better quality camera ?

what do you guys think ?

any body done this ?

cheers
;)

You're limited by the circumference of the motor mounts on the arms. Some of the T-motor drop-ins will provide a bit more lift, but we're talking incremental. If you want to lift a Nex comfortably, you may need to look into something like this:

so what are they & where do you get them ?

thanks :)

They're Fusuno extended motor mounts for the Phantom. They're selectively available, you'll have to google around for a place that has em in stock. They provide extra space for larger motor diameters and longer motor-to-motor distance for larger props. With these, some people are extending their Phantoms to X8 configs, others put on low-kv motors and swing bigger props for more flight time and lift...it's all a trade off so you have to plan your upgrades carefully, but I've seen people use this to carry rx100 size cams on their Phantoms.
