I'm not sure they're worried about YOU. It would be interesting, however, to see how easy it is to break the Phantom. I've heard it hops between only a limited number of frequencies. Maybe a 2000mW 2.4GHz video tx and a directional antenna could wipe out the controller signal.

Picture the same thing with a police UAV doing crowd control - you've got some far more motivated people then.

There's certainly an argument for police to have encrypted GPS, but will that wipe out the cost savings, and can they guarantee the security of the gear?
