Mobile Device loosing connection

I recently bought a refurbished Phantom 3 Standard. Updated to the latest software. Downloaded the DJI Go app to my Android phone. First flight the phone lost connection with the drone when it was less than 20 feet away. I called support and they said I don't have a device on the recommended list. I have a Motorola Droid Turbo 2 at Android version 7.0. I tried a LG mini tablet, same thing. I tried an iPad, same thing. The recommended device list is pretty small. Do I really have to go buy a new device now too? Any advise?

Sign out of your app and sign in again. My iPad works flawlessly. New firmware messed up things for awhile.
