Mechanical Shutter

Hi there, on the P4P, when taking video, can someone please explain the difference between having mechanical shutter on or off? i have so far always had it on, but have no idea what it actually means. will it help me get better video with less jello or something ?

Mechanical shutter only works when taking photos. It doesn’t have any effect for video recording as that will still use digital shutter.

Edit:
To explain it simply, mechanical shutter will prevent what is called the “rolling shutter” effect when you are taking picture of a very fast moving subject, which caused it to skew
