How do you connect your phone , wifi or cable to the remote controller.

You won't need WiFi if you're using the remote, that's only if you have the Mavic in 'WiFi Mode' between the unit and your phone/tablet.

Thanks for sharing that as I was wondering how different devices connected to the remote.

Appears that the preferred device is an iPhone with Lightning connector as default...

It's actually just a lightning port adapter they include that plugs into a micro usb port on the controller.
