I was thinking of taking my Phantom somewhere other than my backyard to fly today. I recall reading something regarding not getting close to magnets such as speakers in the car. How much do I need to worry about this? Can I set the quad on the seat - or do I need to build a trailer for it... :D

FWIW, I have several cars to choose from. None of them have any significant stereo systems in them, just stock systems (I grew up and realized nobody really wanted to hear the car buzz 300' away). My truck has a ton of room, but does have a factory sub mounted behind the back seat. My sportscar, not so much room and it would have to either be on the passenger seat next to me or in the frunk up front.

So basically its a non issue in a normal car?

If the compass were to become affected, how would I know?

As the bird warms up, it checks the compass. If it is not correct, you will get yellow lights flashing and you may not be able to fly until you correct it.
I've transported mine in my car which has speakers all over it. Never had a problem.
