Looking for advice from Hawaii residents

I will be going to both Maui and the big island in a few months and hoping to gain any knowledge from anyone who lives there or has been there in the past. I was really hoping to fly on the big island to film the lava flows, but what I'm reading doesn't sound good. Sounds like most of the area is restricted. Any tips or information from anyone on Maui or Hawaii would be helpful.

I was in Kapalua just last month. Lots of places to fly there, but be careful of the airport and state parks. The northern end of the island near the blowhole was great flying. Couple of videos attached.

I was in Howaii big islands last November and saw restrictions only near lava places, all other areas are open to flying. There are so many good spots for flying, you will enjoy.
