Litchi App, what is it and how is it used?

I have seen a ton of people writing about the Litchi App and can some of you briefly explain what makes this application so popular, so on and so forth.

Really appreciate anyone's help.

Litchi and Autopilot are autonomous flying systems. Basically an autopilot for your drone.

Litchi runs on both Android and iOS, while Autopilot is tied to iOS only and a little more difficult to learn and complex, imho.

Litchi app has offline waypoint planning. That means you can plan out the entire route of your flight sitting at home and decide how camera will move. Then go to the site and launch mission. Your flight details are loaded onto phantom and it starts flying the programmed route even if the connection between RC and phantom is lost. Thus it makes it useful for photography beyond the LOS.

...so can I set a mission to fly the p3p to my friend's house and land even if the controller get's disconnected? Also, how's the landing under the Litchi app? When I pressed return to home with dji go, I noticed that it landed pretty aggressive, and I don't like that.

Litchi uses DJI' S API s, so you will get similar landings.
